Cranberry Walnut Spinach Salad with Hemp Seeds
Since going plant-based a little over a year ago, I’m constantly looking for ways to incorporate more protein into my diet. Enter Hemp Seeds. I’ve been adding this superfood to everything and loving it! My basic cranberry salads have now turned into Cranberry Walnut Spinach Salad with Hemp Seeds.
Hemp Seeds and why you should love them:
– Hemp seeds contain Omega-3 essential fatty acids which are important for muscle and joint repair. Three tablespoons (30 g) of hemp hearts contain ten grams of protein — that is more than is found in a large boiled egg.
– Hemp seeds contain an especially beneficial type of omega-6 fat called GLA that works in the body as an anti-inflammatory. GLA decreases inflammation, and may help people who have arthritis.
– Hemp hearts contain the amino acid arginine, which has been known to lower blood pressure and reduce the risk of heart disease.
Do I need to say more? Hemp seeds help with inflammation, brain function, digestion, blood pressure and the list goes on! TRY THEM!
