THE WHITE TEMPLE IN THAILAND
This year I decided to take a trip to Southeast Asia. I spent 6 glorious days in Thailand, and I fell in love with their culture. After a great stay at De Chai the Deco Hotel Chiang Mai, it was time to hit the road and check out the White Temple, and of course take plenty of pictures! I hopped in the tour truck and off we went to Chiang Rai. Chiang Rai is there the White Temple is located.
VISITING THE WHITE TEMPLE IN THAILAND
The White Temple, called Wat Rong Khun, is a beautiful white temple in Chiang Rai, Thailand. It is a privately owned Buddhist temple and art exhibit. The idea is to never look back when crossing over the path, passing hell and entering Heaven, as a gesture of leaving the bad things behind you after crossing the bridge. The White Temple is very impressive and defiantly worth if you travel to Thailand. There are over 30,000 traditional temples throughout Thailand, but as you can see from the photos, the White Temple is anything but traditional.
The White Temple is free to entre and is open daily from 6:30am to 6:30pm. Before you enter any temple you must read the signage to see if pictures are allowed. You are not allowed to take pictures inside The White Temple, but you can take lots of pictures from outside. I took a ton of pictures of this temple because it was stunning. This temple gets a lot of traffic because of how beautiful it is so I recommend visiting early in the morning to explore.
WHERE TO STAY IN CHIANG MAI
There’s not much to do in Chiang Rai except a few temples so I opted to take a day trip instead of spending the night. But, there are a few hotels to choose from if you decide to stay over.
Here are a few recommended hotels below. Click to see the rates for your dates:
Luxury hotels – Le Meridien Chiang Rai Resort is a beautiful resort hotel with really affordable prices for a higher-end hotel. Marriott is a reputable brand and I really recommend staying here!
Comfortable hotel – The Riverie by Katathani is a gorgeous five-star hotel at a really good price. A night at this hotel will cost less than $100 if you book in advance!
Budget hotel – Maryo Resort has an outdoor pool, free shuttle service and many other perks for a great price!

I love Thailand too and been there several times as it is only an hour flight from Singapore. We did a road trip flying in to Bangkok and drive all the way to Chiang Mai and return the rental car there. White temple is a must visit. Love the architecture but the tourists were just too scary. So crowded.

I agree, it does get really crowded with tourists during the day. But great experience nonetheless 🙂
